The Importance Of Music

The Importance Of Music

So many of us overlook the role music plays in our lives. It makes traffic jams more bearable and can help set the pace at work. It motivates us during our workout and helps create a fun environment for our parties. Music is therapeutic and in some cases liberating.

Would you say this is a valuable thing? Then why are musicians treated so poorly in today’s marketplace? Think about it. If the creators of this highly taken for granted form of entertainment can’t make money, then how can they continue putting the music out that makes your day that much more enjoyable? Don’t they deserve to be paid for their hard work too?

If you question whether making music is hard work or not then I ask you to please factor in the years of practice musicians put into playing their instruments. Also factor in the experience and education it takes to write lyrics that speak to you. Then look at the amount of money spent on the production of this work. Don’t forget musicians eat and pay rent or mortgages just like everyone else.

You know as well as anybody that in order to be an expert at something, you need to put all your time and focus into it. Musicians are no exception to that rule.

The next time you’re wondering if you should purchase music or just download it for free, ask yourself if you would enjoy going to work today and not punching in to receive payment at the end of the week. These artists work hard to make your day better. Don’t you think it’s worth the $10 they’re asking just to keep their business alive?

Questions and comments always welcome.

Thanks for reading!
